The motto for this week will be "Win the battle"- this most often means the battle with your own brain. Keep the demons at bay, push through the pain and you will achieve your goals! Keep working hard, rally and build each other up, and we will succeed.
"Don't even worry if you finish first or 100th. It doesn't make any difference because there's going to be another race later. If you win, everybody forgets it in a few days anyway, and if you lose, nobody remembers, but the inspiration you give will last forever because you'll get other people to run well..." Jerry Lindgren (advice to distance runners)
2013 XC Racing season finally arrived with toasty, humid conditions in Shelly, ID. Despite a late arrival and tough competition the Braves and Lady Braves left a memorable impression on the SE Idaho teams at the meet. Hannah paced the girls, powering through with an 8th place finish, leading the girls to an 6th place finish. Cody Peck rallied over the last half of the course to move from 10th to first place, with Nic running 6th, and Zach 14th. The boys finished a promising third. We are excited about our starting point and look to improve and close gaps as the season progresses.
