NXN Results 2011

A big thanks to all those who attended and supported our run in Boise this last weekend. We had a great time lacing them up against the best in the Northwest. Results from the meet can be found here.

NXN REGIONAL MEET- BOISE

Those that have chosen to run in Boise:

We will leave the HS at 11 a.m. on Friday. We will travel to Boise, attend the social and then check into our hotel. We will compete Saturday morning/afternoon then return home Saturday night. Remember you will be responsible for meals and get ready to run fast!

End of Year Awards/Highlight Film

We will be meeting in the Auditorium on Wednesday, November 2nd for awards and this year's highlight film. We will also be talking about details for the NXN meet in Boise on 11/12. Check out runnerspace.com for more information. See you Wednesday.

It has been a bitter-sweet ending to the season. An amazing year even if it didn't end how we hoped it would. Incredible performances all around. Hopefully you can use this to motivate you when you start training next summer. Greatness is just around the corner!

Regional Champions!

State XC @ Douglas

State will be at the Douglas Community Golf Course again this year. The boys will run at 10:30 and the girls and 12:00 on Saturday, October 22. We will be leaving Friday morning at 10 a.m. and should be home between 11 and 12 p.m. Saturday night. Because this is a season culminating event the school district will take care of all meals. TTMH!

Because of parking constraints, Douglas High School is offering a park and ride to alleviate parking concerns at the Douglas Community Golf Course. They will begin the Park and Ride at 9:30 a.m. It is a Free Service offered by Douglas High School. Those choosing to utilize the park and ride may park at Bartling Park, 100 Block of Jefferson Street. As you travel toward the Douglas Community Club Golf Course on Labonte Rd. turn left on Laramie St. Bartling Park is located 3 blocks east. The Park and Ride is located about 3/4 mile from the golf course. This will help alleviate traffic congestion and parking issues along the way to the golf course. They will have busses available to take you to the Douglas Community Golf Course. We will also bring you back to Bartling Park when you would like to leave. Busses will be avaialable for the entire State Cross Country Meet and after the Awards Ceremony. Regional XC 2011

It's hard to believe that we are down to the last two meets of the year. Thank you to everyone who helped with our meet this last Friday. Way to buck up and run well in the slop and the cold. I will post times/photos soon. The regional meet is this Friday at 1 p.m. at the Powell Country Club- located approximately 5 miles East of Powell on the Powell/Cody Highway. (Highway 14 alt.) The girls will run at 1 p.m. followed by the boys. Awards will be given directly after the 2 races. We will travel to Cody on Thursday. When we leave will depend on if we can drive through Yellowstone or not. we should know an exact time later in the week. We will be home Friday night. Please pack dinner for the road the night before the race. We will take care of the rest. The top 7 runners for our team will qualify to run at the state meet with the possibility of bringing an alternate for both boys and girls. Keep hydrated and get your rest. The competition will be fierce--but now is time to cash in on all the hard work you've done this year!

Star Valley Invitational

The 2011 Star Valley Invitational will be held tomorrow, October 7th @ the Star Valley Vu Golf Course in Afton. The Middle School boys and girls will run together at 3 p.m. the course is approximately 2500 meters. They will be followed by the HS girls and HS boys. Teams that are expected to compete are Soda Springs, Evanston, Mountain View, and Lyman. We are planning on running despite the weather.

Meet today @ Bear Lake!

The meet today at Bear Lake will start at 4 p.m. with the middle school races and each race will be started before the next one finishes so be on time! They will take place at the golf course/high school/fairgrounds area north of town.

Bob Firman XC--Boise

Harriers and Parents,

We will be hitting the road again at 10 a.m. this Friday. This time for a drive through scenic central Idaho to attend the Bob Firman Invitational at Eagle Island State Park in Boise. You can find all the details here. We will be running in the division 1 races for the varsity and in the second JV races because of they group the schools alphabetically. As last week please pack lunch and bring extra food or money for dinner. We will take care of meals on Saturday. We will be back to the HS at 10 or 11 p.m. Saturday.

Jackalope Invitational 9/16/11

Here is the race information for Douglas next weekend:

The “2011 JACKALOPE CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL” is on Friday September 16th, 2011. There will be running a middle school race for those of you who wish to participate. We are including a course map for your review. Please note the following:

From the coaches and spectators point of view, a short walk from the starting and finishing line to the top of the hill will allow you to view the starting and finishing line and will allow you to view the complete race from a single vantage point. As you will notice, we will start on the 18th fairway and will finish on the 17th fairway.

ORDER OF RACES AND APPROXIMATE STARTING TIMES:
2:00 PM FIRST RACE—GIRLS 3K MIDDLE SCHOOL
2:30 PM SECOND RACE--BOYS 3K MIDDLE SCHOOL

After the race we will eat in Casper and then stay the night in Riverton. We will stop for a team run @ Jenny Lake on Saturday and be home around noon.

Cardinal Classic Information

We will be competing in Soda Springs this Saturday. The bus will leave Star Valley High School at 7 a.m. We will pick up athletes at Thayne Elementary and Silverstar if that is more convenient for you. The race schedule is as follows:

American Fork Relays

We will be headed to American Fork this Friday for the grass relays. This will be an excellent "rust buster" for us and give us a chance to compete as a team. We are also planning on hitting a water park afterwards...so bring a swimsuit, pack your dinner, and the school will pick up the tab for meals on Saturday.
